Yesterday I took the chance to spend a day off to Cambridge for a one day visit between the punting experience and the Fitzwilliam museum.
The city has such a cool vibe and I couldn’t wait to leave my impressions with some random pictures.
A visit to Cambridge surely deserved a few words.
This week I’m also going to publish on the website a gallery of one of the three renewed portfolios of my work with Elene Wedding Photography as you see these on the homepage. One of these 3 main portfolios will be focused of some places that left me determined moods and sensations; I consider some places a decisive parts of Elene photography due to the will and availability to travel in order to tell different stories like the event I cover, and the clients I meet.
Cambridge in a day
In a day I really couldn’t see all of Cambridge; it deserves more time and, since I was supposed to spend a relaxing day, I didn’t want to run. I focused my attention on the feelings and the vibes of Cambridge which are so cool.
By randomly get around by foot I saw, in the morning, what it really was the punting experience in Cambridge while in the afternoon I took time to be completely stunned by the beauty and of the Fitzwilliam museum.
Certainly I couldn’t miss the view of some colleges and feel the silence of those places dedicated to study. There I walked in the silence of the corridors and the yards while the distant clamor of the tourists became thin and I enjoyed a lot to breath that
A punting experience in Cambridge is a must and I discovered it by looking at the many boats on the Cam river. I found thi practice so iconic, just like renting a Gondola in Venice, the best and most lovely way to see the city; somehow the punting experience is similar even if they use a pole to move the punt, the boar. Another thing unites the 2 cities and it is the name of one of the most iconic bridges called in both places “Bridge of Sights”.
Fitzwilliam museum in Cambridge
In the afternoon I discovered the amazing Fitzwilliam museum in Cambridge and consequently I fell in love with the place. What made this discovery so pleasant to me is surely the main lobby and the light that I saw coming from the dome. Simply amazing.
The collections are really well displayed and I could spent more than one afternoon in a place like that, losing myself at the sights of the paintings, ceramics and, of course swords and armors.
I found an incredible collections of Egyptian antiques and a very interesting collection of Italian paintings as well. Obviously the Fitzwilliam museum is not only this. I completely suggest a visit. Probably you’re going to find yourself without words by looking at the dome of the main lobby like me.
Well probably I saw not the most adventurous wildlife in Cambridge for a one day visit but probably the nicer. At the beginning of my visit, while I was walking towards the can river, I met geese and cows. What a welcome!
